ABOUT ME

If you were to ask me a few years ago, what’s my ideal job? I’m not sure I’d been able to answer. I once thought my ideal job was to be a doctor and I got my degree in Biochemistry because of it. I put myself through college by working all kinds of jobs from dishwasher, file clerk, lab courier, tutor, and research technician. After college, when my plans changed and I didn’t go on to medical school, I held various positions managing people and projects and now wife and stay-at-home mom of two boys has topped my resume for the last 9 years. I must admit this “Mom job” has been the most rewarding job I’ve held. Seeing my kids grow up and being a part of their daily lives is my greatest priority and greatest achievement…the ideal job.
Luckily, being home and cooking every night for my family, revealed my passion for cooking! I love to cook! I’m a home cook who likes to develop new recipes and experiment with new ingredients. I also love fall and Halloween and I spend many months each year, creating and developing recipes and decorating ideas for the most wonderful time of the year! :) My science background gives me an appreciation for nature and nutrition and I love to be creative; whether I'm writing a blog about the reproductive cycle of pumpkins, the science of seasoning cast iron, decorating on a budget, how to make Trunk or Treat Trophies, or a new main dish, this blog is the perfect outlet for my right- and left-brained split personality. I hope you’ll join me on this fun food journey and find something that inspires you along the way.  ~Lori
